MUX

Commonpeople collaborated with MUX to present our first live-recorded performance. We have been fans of MUX ever since they started it a couple of months back, and we truly hope you will enjoy this performance as much as we did. We have always hoped to capture the creative dynamism of this band, but clearly, come to realize nothing really beats witnessing them live.

The music of MUX is melodic and beautiful, yet often times try to remind its listener that a world of dissonance and subversion awaits. Their carefully crafted multi-layered soundscape invites the listener into their complex world, guided only by the voice of Bani Haykal that acts both as an instrument and the messenger.

The instruments they use include microphones for real time field recording, analog equipment, instruments, objects, and everyday household electronics. The visual projection in this performance is created by video artist Jun.

Shot in the home of Bani Haykal blogotheque style, we hope you will enjoy this great musical journey.

MUX will be doing a mix media performance titled “What Day Is It Today?” on 10 August, 8pm at the Esplanade Theatre Studio. Click here for more details.

Special Thanks to Mux & Jun
